Aegean Airlines was founded in 1987 as Aegean Aviation, initially providing VIP and air taxi services. It transitioned into a commercial airline in 1999, launching scheduled passenger services with domestic flights in Greece. The airline rapidly expanded into international markets, competing with Olympic Airways (later Olympic Air). In 2013, Aegean acquired Olympic Air, consolidating its position as Greeceโs largest airline. Over the years, it has expanded its route network and upgraded its fleet, gaining recognition for its service quality and operational efficiency. Aegean Airlines has received multiple awards for being the best regional airline in Europe.
