History

Royal Air Maroc was established in 1953 through the merger of Air Atlas and Air Maroc, creating Morocco’s national carrier. Over the decades, the airline expanded its network across Africa, Europe, and beyond. In 2020, RAM joined the Oneworld alliance, enhancing its global connectivity. As of November 2023, the airline serves 45 countries and 134 routes.

Lounges

Royal Air Maroc provides premium lounge facilities at its hub in Casablanca including the Medina Lounge and Zenith I VIP Lounge. In Marrakech is the L’Oasis VIP Lounge and at Orly Paris is the Zenith VIP Lounge. Amenities include comfortable seating areas, complimentary dining and beverages, business centers with internet access and shower facilities.

The lounges are accessible to passengers holding a business class boarding card, and passengers with Safar Flyer Platinum, Ambassador or Gold loyalty cards.

Sustainability & Environmental Efforts

Although Royal Air Maroc’s website does not contain information about the airline’s sustainability measures, the airline has achieved Stage 2 IEnvA registration indicating that it has satisfied the independent assessment of its commitment to continuously improve their environmental and sustainability performance. This certification amongst other things, assesses the airline’ commitment to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) adoption, the continual implementation of a modern and fuel-efficient fleet and efficient waste reduction measures.
