Royal Jordanian was established in 1963 by a royal decree from King Hussein with the aim of connecting Jordan to the world. Initially named Alia (after King Husseinโs daughter), the airline started operations with a small fleet serving regional destinations. Over the years, it expanded internationally, rebranded as Royal Jordanian in 1986, and became a key player in the Middle Eastern aviation sector. It joined the Oneworld alliance in 2007, enhancing connectivity and cooperation with global carriers. Today, Royal Jordanian is known for its strategic location, linking the Middle East with Europe, North America, and Asia.
