RwandAir was established on 1 December 2002 as the national carrier of Rwanda, following the cessation of operations by the former national airline, Air Rwanda. Initially named Rwandair Express, the airline began with regional flights within Africa. In March 2009, it rebranded to RwandAir, reflecting its growth and broader ambitions. Over the years, RwandAir has expanded its network to include destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, positioning itself as a key player in connecting Rwanda to the world.
