Details
Established in 1945 with a single Douglas DC-3 aircraft gifted to King Abdulaziz by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Saudia began as a modest operation. Over the decades, it expanded its fleet and route network, becoming the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia. In 1962, Saudia became the first Middle Eastern airline to operate jet aircraft with the introduction of the Boeing 720. The airline rebranded to “Saudia” and joined the SkyTeam alliance in 2012, enhancing its global connectivity.
