SpiceJet’s origins trace back to 1994 when it was established as ModiLuft, operating until 1996. In 2004, Indian entrepreneur Ajay Singh acquired the defunct airline, rebranding it as SpiceJet. The airline commenced operations in May 2005, positioning itself as a low-cost carrier in India’s burgeoning aviation market. Over the years, SpiceJet expanded its domestic and international routes, becoming one of India’s leading low-cost airlines. Despite facing financial challenges, the airline has implemented restructuring efforts to maintain its market position.
