History

Thai AirAsia X was launched in 2014 as a long-haul, low-cost affiliate of the AirAsia Group and a counterpart to AirAsia X in Malaysia. Its establishment aimed to expand the groupโ€™s long-haul network while leveraging Thailandโ€™s strategic position as a major travel hub in Southeast Asia.

The airlineโ€™s first flights were to Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan, reflecting its focus on high-demand long-haul destinations. Over the years, Thai AirAsia X has grown steadily, offering affordable long-haul travel and connecting Thailand to destinations in East Asia, Oceania, and beyond.
