TUI Airways traces its origins to the establishment of Euravia in January 1962, which was later rebranded as Britannia Airways in December 1964. Over the decades, the airline underwent several mergers and rebranding efforts, including the integration of Orion Airways in 1989. In 2005, following the acquisition by TUI Group, it was rebranded as Thomsonfly. A subsequent merger with First Choice Airways in 2007 led to the formation of Thomson Airways in 2008. Finally, in 2017, as part of a unified branding strategy by the TUI Group, the airline adopted the name TUI Airways.
