Vietnam Airlines was established in 1956 as Vietnam Civil Aviation. Initially, it operated under the Ministry of Defense, focusing on both state management and commercial air transportation. In 1989, it was restructured into a state-owned enterprise and rebranded as Vietnam Airlines. Over the years, the airline expanded its network and modernized its fleet, becoming a symbol of national pride. In 2010, Vietnam Airlines joined the SkyTeam alliance, enhancing its global connectivity. In 2015, the airline transitioned into a joint-stock company, marking a significant milestone in its development.
