The last four minutes of the digital flight data recorder and the voice recorder of the Jeju Airlines Boeing 737 that crashed on December 29, 2024 killing 179 are missing.
The authorities in South Korea have revealed the last four minutes of the two black boxes from the Jeju Airlines 737 are missing which begs the question did this aircraft suffer a catastrophic electrical failure just after the bird strike which know happened? At least one engine was damaged from vision we have seen.
At the same time the Jeju Airlines aircraft stopped transmitting the ADSB data that goes to air traffic control. This is the data the enables ATC to track the aircraft and it ceased at 900ft above the ground while on approach to the runway and immediately after the bird strike.
After the bird strike the pilot called Mayday Mayday and requested a go around for another landing from the other end of the runway. The fact that the ADSB data ceased at the same time lead to the possibility of some sort of catastrophic electrical failure which is incredible as the 737 has two electrical systems with battery backups.
