Emirates has opened a dedicated check-in facility for First Class passengers and Skywards Platinum members at Terminal 3, Dubai International Airport (DXB). The facility, named “Emirates First,” replaces the airline’s previous check-in area and is designed to streamline the ground experience for its premium customers.
The new space includes private seating zones, where passengers can complete check-in procedures while seated. Airline staff use tablets to facilitate the process, and dedicated check-in counters remain available for customers who prefer a traditional experience. Baggage is handled via separate First Class belts located behind marble and brass service desks.
The facility features a subdued design using earth tones, with finishes including wood, marble, and leather. There are no digital screens or advertising, and the lighting is integrated to maintain low ambient levels. Interior elements include references to Emirates’ onboard cabin aesthetics, such as a backlit Ghaf Tree and branded timepieces.
Emirates has removed typical airport signage in favor of a curated environment with greenery, soft lighting, and seating arrangements designed to accommodate both individuals and families. A designated staff member checks customer eligibility at a single access point marked by a gold entrance.
Passengers using the space also have access to Emirates’ Chauffeur Drive Service and three First Class lounges in Terminal 3. These lounges offer à la carte dining, spa services, business centers, and retail concierge assistance.
Emirates operates the largest inventory of international First Class seats globally, with approximately 26,800 First Class seats available each week. The opening of Emirates First follows a series of recent upgrades targeting the First Class product, including redesigned cabin service elements introduced earlier this year. These include new plating for caviar service, upgraded menus highlighting wine pairings, and enhanced cabin service protocols such as gloved meal service.
The launch of Emirates First is part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to standardize and upgrade the premium experience across all stages of the travel journey, from check-in to arrival.
