After a couple of false starts airlines of the UAE have begun operating a very limited number of flights commencing from last night March 2nd.
This morning, March 3, at 7am AWST three Emirates flights were heading for Dubai from India and then turned back. Since then, at 9am AWST some of the flights have turned back for Dubai.

Also some flights are leaving Dubai.
Etihad and FlyDubai have also started limited operations.
Emirates said in a statement:
“We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority, and those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights will be contacted directly by Emirates. Please do not go to the airport unless you have been notified. All other flights remain suspended until further notice.
Emirates continues to monitor the situation, and we will develop our operational schedule accordingly. Updates will be published on our website and official social media channels. We would like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience. The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority.”
Emirates adds:
“The situation remains dynamic and is assessed continuously. We urge all customers to check flight status, review the latest operational updates on emirates.com, and check their email for any notifications about changes or cancellations to their flights before travelling to the airport.
- Rebook on an alternate flight. You can rebook on another flight to your intended destination for travel on or before 20 March. If you booked your flight with a travel agent, please contact them. If you booked with us directly, contact us .
- Request for refund. You can request for a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form if you booked with us directly. If you booked your flights with a travel agent, please contact them.
Customers impacted by flight cancellations must contact their travel agency for rebooking. If booked directly with Emirates, please contact us.
Customers are requested to ensure their contact details are correct by visiting Manage Your Booking to receive updates. All city check‑in points across Dubai are temporarily closed until further notice.”
