The Qantas Group has extended a series of flight schedule changes across its international and domestic network, citing ongoing disruption linked to conflict in the Middle East and persistently high fuel prices.
The airline said the adjustments, which will remain in place between July and September, are part of broader efforts to manage operating costs while responding to continued strong demand for travelโparticularly to Europe.
Europe flights boosted despite wider cuts
On international routes, Qantas will redeploy some aircraft to increase services between Australia and Europe, offering more options for passengers currently booked on partner airlines.
Additional PerthโRome flights will now continue through to the end of October, while services to Paris will return to three return flights per week from August, operating via Singapore as originally planned.
The airline said the changes would add around 2,000 seats per week on routes to and from Europe.
However, capacity reductions elsewhere in the network will offset those increases. Qantas confirmed its SydneyโBengaluru service will be temporarily suspended from August, with flights scheduled to resume at the end of October. Both Qantas and Jetstar have also scaled back services across trans-Tasman routes.
Overall, the group expects its international capacity to be reduced by around two percentage points in the first quarter of the 2027 financial year.
Domestic services trimmed
Domestically, previously announced reductions will remain in place until the end of September, with capacity cut by around five percentage pointsโmainly affecting high-frequency routes between major capital cities.
The airline said affected customers are being contacted directly and offered alternative flights or refunds.
Qantas said the ongoing adjustments reflect the dual challenge of elevated fuel costs and shifting travel demand as global conditions remain uncertain.
