Qantas Launches Major International Sale with 350,000 Discounted Seats, Including School Holiday Travel

Qantas has unveiled a major international sale, offering 350,000 discounted seats across more than 30 global routes, with prices starting from as low as $499 return. The one-week promotion includes travel during peak periods such as Australian school holidays and aligns with major international events and festivals.

Travellers can book reduced fares on flights to destinations across Asia, the Americas, the UK, Africa, and the Pacific. Popular routes included in the sale are Sydney to Tokyo, Melbourne to Christchurch, and Perth to London. Economy return fares start at $499 for Melbourne to Christchurch, with travel dates spanning from July 2025 through May 2026.

The sale covers a range of key Australian school breaks, including the summer holidays, Easter, and the September–October term break. Qantas has also timed the promotion to coincide with major global attractions, offering travellers a chance to attend events such as:

  • Hong Kong’s Wine & Dine Festival (24–26 October)
  • Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebrations in Los Angeles throughout 2025
  • The opening of DATALAND, the world’s first Museum of AI Arts in Los Angeles
  • NFL season kick-offs in both Los Angeles and Dallas
  • The State Fair of Texas (26 September–19 October)
  • Dallas Riverfront Jazz Festival (29–31 August)

Qantas Frequent Flyers can also earn up to 50,000 bonus points when booking with Qantas Hotels and Holidays by Monday, 4 August. This is in addition to the standard 3 points per $1 spent. Package deals include:

  • A 3-night stay at Hong Kong’s Harbour Grand Kowloon from $949 for two adults
  • A 3-night family-friendly stay at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim near Disneyland from $989
  • A 4-night stay with return flights at Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort in Hawaii from $6,718 for two adults

Qantas’ sale fares include complimentary food and beverages as well as checked baggage. The promotion runs until 11.59pm (AEST) Monday, 4 August 2025, unless sold out earlier.

Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said the sale is designed to offer more value for families and leisure travellers. “We know how much our customers love our international sales, and we’re excited to be offering some fantastic deals across almost our entire international network,” he said. “What makes this sale special is the availability during school holidays, which is something we know families really value. Whether you’re looking for a tropical escape to Bali, exploring Los Angeles and Dallas, or experiencing the culture in Hong Kong, there’s something here for everyone.”
