Velocity Frequent Flyer launches record Status Credit bonus for members

Velocity Frequent Flyer has unveiled what it says is the largest Status Credit promotion in the program’s history, offering members up to 125 bonus Status Credits on both recent and upcoming Virgin Australia flights.

The limited-time offer applies to eligible flights flown between 12 January and 31 March 2026, with members able to claim bonus Status Credits based on the number of sectors travelled during the period.

Under the promotion:

  • Two flights earn 45 bonus Status Credits
  • Three flights earn 65 bonus Status Credits
  • Four flights earn 85 bonus Status Credits
  • Five flights earn 105 bonus Status Credits
  • Six or more flights earn 125 bonus Status Credits

The offer is open across all Virgin Australia fare types, including Economy Lite and Choice fares, meaning even travellers purchasing the airline’s lowest-priced tickets are eligible. Corporate travellers booking the “best fare of the day” also qualify.

Velocity chief executive Nick Rohrlach said the promotion was designed to reward members for their loyalty, following a strong operational performance by Virgin Australia.

The airline was recently named Australia’s most reliable carrier for 2025 and recorded the country’s best on-time performance in January 2026, according to company figures.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our members to accelerate their status,” Rohrlach said. “When members choose to fly with Australia’s most reliable airline – and the strongest on-time performer to start 2026 – they’re placing real trust in us and we’re proud to reward that loyalty.”

For some members, the additional Status Credits could help bridge the gap to higher tiers such as Gold, Platinum or Platinum Plus, unlocking benefits including lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, and increased baggage allowances. Velocity’s top published tier, Forever Gold, is also within reach for long-term frequent flyers meeting lifetime thresholds.

Virgin Australia is also promoting one-way fares from $109 for travel through to the end of March, which Rohrlach said could encourage members to undertake a so-called “status run” to maximise their benefits before the end of the promotional period.

To qualify, members must activate the offer via the Velocity website or mobile app and book eligible flights through Virgin Australia’s website.
