Vietnam’s Vietjet has launched a new daily service linking Da Nang with Kuala Lumpur, expanding its network between Vietnam and Malaysia to three routes.
The low-cost carrier already operates flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the Malaysian capital. With the new addition, Vietjet now offers 42 flights a week between the two countries.
The Da Nang–Kuala Lumpur route is aimed at boosting connectivity between central Vietnam and Malaysia, supporting both tourism and business travel.
Da Nang has become a key tourism hub, serving as a gateway to central Vietnam’s heritage sites including Hoi An, Hue, and My Son Sanctuary. Kuala Lumpur remains a major regional transport and business centre.
Vietjet continues to expand internationally across Asia-Pacific and has flagged future plans to enter long-haul markets in Europe and the Americas.
Separately Vietjet has been named the Grand Winner in the Tourism category at the 2025 ASEAN Business Awards, held alongside the 47th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.
The award recognises Vietjet’s role in promoting tourism and regional connectivity. The airline operates 130 aircraft on 170 routes across Asia-Pacific and has carried more than 250 million passengers.
Vietjet Vice President and CFO Ho Ngoc Yen Phuong said the airline aims to make air travel more accessible while expanding its international network.
The ASEAN Business Awards, organised annually by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council since 2007, honour companies contributing to regional economic development and integration.
