Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) has announced record-breaking financial and operational results for 2024, alongside major strategic expansions in its flight network and fleet. The announcements were made during the airline’s 2025 Annual General Meeting held on May 30.
Strong Operational Growth and Record Financial Performance
In 2024, Vietjet operated 137,500 flights and carried more than 25.9 million passengers (excluding its Thai subsidiary), including over 9 million international travelers—an 18% increase compared to the previous year. The airline introduced 20 new routes last year, expanding its total network to 145 routes, comprising 101 international and 44 domestic services.

Vietjet also became the first airline to establish direct routes between Vietnam and four major Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. Its international network continues to grow strongly in markets such as India, China, South Korea, and Japan.
The carrier reported consolidated revenue of VND72.045 trillion (approximately US$2.77 billion) in 2024, with a consolidated pre-tax profit of VND1.823 trillion (US$70.17 million). The parent company’s revenue reached VND71.734 trillion (US$2.76 billion), with a pre-tax profit of VND1.748 trillion (US$67.27 million). As of December 31, 2024, Vietjet’s total assets stood at nearly VND99.3 trillion (US$3.82 billion). The company reported a debt-to-equity ratio of 2.03 and a liquidity ratio of 1.58, both considered healthy within the aviation industry.
Vietjet New Route Between Phu Quoc and Singapore
Coinciding with the AGM, Vietjet inaugurated a new international route between Phu Quoc, Vietnam, and Singapore. The service, launched on May 30, offers four round-trip flights per week with a flight time of under two hours. With this addition, Vietjet now operates 78 weekly flights between Vietnam and Singapore across four routes, linking Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang with the city-state.
The airline also announced the resumption of two domestic routes—Da Nang–Nha Trang and Hanoi–Tuy Hoa—beginning June 1 to meet rising summer travel demand.
Vietjet Long-Term Growth Strategy and Fleet Expansion
Vietjet outlined its long-term strategy to enhance regional and global connectivity. As part of its growth vision, the airline signed a new agreement with Airbus in May 2025 to purchase 20 additional Airbus A330neo wide-body aircraft, bringing its total order of the model to 40.
Chairwoman Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (above) reaffirmed the company’s commitment to international integration and affordable air travel. “Vietjet continues to expand our international flight network, opening up new corridors for trade, tourism, and investment,” she said.
Vietjet Investments in Infrastructure and Services
To support its expanding operations, Vietjet is investing in technical infrastructure, including ground services and aircraft maintenance facilities at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai—Vietnam’s busiest airports. The airline is also enhancing its aircraft maintenance capabilities for both wide-body and narrow-body fleets.
As Vietjet enters a new phase of growth, it aims to become a leading force in Asia-Pacific aviation through continued innovation, an expanding route network, and competitive service offerings.
